Farm Tour

This is your chance to get up close and personal with our chickens, goats, mini donkeys, and sheep. Whether you're considering adding animals to your homestead or simply want to experience farm life, this tour offers the perfect opportunity to explore the possibilities. Ask all your questions, see how we manage the animals, and get inspired by a friendly, hobby farm.
It's also just a great way to unwind and connect with nature. Bring the kids (accompanied by an adult), bring your camera, or simply bring yourself if you're craving some peaceful animal time.

Goat Ownership 101
Dreaming of owning goats? Whether you’re looking for pets, interested in brush clearing, or excited about a hyper-local source of milk, goats can be an amazing addition to your homestead. Come meet our herd of Mini-Nubian dairy goats and see if goats are right for you!
During this hands-on experience, you'll learn everything you need to know about caring for goats, from proper fencing and housing to feeding and regular maintenance. We’ll cover essential tasks like hoof trimming, running fecals, and checking for external parasites, so you’re fully equipped to provide the best care for your new caprine companions.

Milk Goats & Cheese 101
Is the idea of producing your own dairy intriguing? Do you dream of being more self-sufficient? Maybe you’re lactose intolerant. Maybe you think you can rationalize pet goats if they pay you back in milk. Whatever your reason, this course will introduce you to the fundamentals of owning dairy goats!
Consider the logistics of breeding, learn about the basics of sanitary milking and milk storage, and – when in season – try your hand at milking a real live goat. (Baby goat cuddling included free of charge!) You’ll also dive into making chevre, the cornerstone of any goat-owning homestead's cheese-making operation.

While some prior experience in cheese-making may be helpful, this class is perfect for beginners, and will leave you with the skills to create truly exceptional cheeses.

Getting Started with Goat’s Milk Soap
Soap making might seem intimidating at first, but the reward of crafting something you can use every day is totally worth it! In this hands-on class, we'll guide you step-by-step through the basics of soap making using a simple recipe that you can easily customize to suit your preferences. Soap making blends both art and science, and by the end of the class, you’ll have the confidence to try out more recipes and create beautiful soaps for your family and friends.
Please note that soap making involves the use of lye, so safety gear is required for all participants. If you’d like to bring a minor along, please contact Mary Margaret in advance to discuss suitability.
